My apologies for harsh words in the feedback which is purely based on feelings of fans and is independent of the real life circumstances faced by the creatives.

Despite the fact that “Drashmeet” are now a brand to reckon and people have not just accepted them but have made them part of their lives, the attitude and vision of the present creative team in terms of writing, direction and editing just does not compliment the fantastic work done by Swati Pande, Vincent, Priya Noel Smith, Maan Singh and Barry Dhillon.

 It’s only love and loyalty of fans towards Drashti and Gurmeet which has kept the series alive and rankings of series Geet, Drashti and Gurmeet intact despite disconnecting from the series and characters Maaneet. Many are now loosing patience and now feel betrayed by the production house. The channel and the team can analyze their performance by checking the trp’s, feedback of fans after the MC track but compare it to its own performance before MC track.

Its their sheer chemistry which is under utilized ever since the new creative team arrived and also due to several other factors and if in future, ever presented to its optimum potential would do wonders beyond imagination and trust me on this, roads would go vacant at 9.30 pm, shops shut and everyone switched to Star One if ever their chemistry is presented to its optimum potential, supported by a equally strong writing , editing and the direction team.

Irrespective of what fans feel for Drashti and Gurmeet as a pair, if ever the production house and the channel along with creatives of Geet think of presenting  Drashti and Gurmeet with a vision to present them as an ideal married couple positively dealing with simple day to day  and post marital challenges and issues, will earn everyone associated with Geet with fame , support  loyalty fortune provided a track chosen has optimum blend of all emotions and maximum scope to show Drashti and Gurmeet scenes.

With every episode passing by a feeling got stronger that finally there is some pair and actors from TV world who can make it big on the big screen as well and are just too good provided their talent is complemented by equally good vision which provides scope to explore their romantic image which is contagious indeed and can make one addictive beyond imagination.

Some addiction which crosses barriers of acceptance as “Drashmeet” are now accepted, loved and idolized, what is lacking is will and determination to present them in a manner which compliments their image and vision which “Maaneet” fans have for both of them.






For Drashti and Gurmeet to continue working in Geet an equally dedicated and competent team of screenplay writers, editor and director in particular is the need of the hour who can compliment their chemistry, visualize them in the best possible work of fiction.

Till the time “Geet” as a series is aired it will always be about “Drashti and Gurmeet” and even superstars like Sharukh and Kajol, Hrithik and Ash, Shahid and Priyanka wont appeal fans in parallel track , this is the kind of connectivity fans have with Drashti and Gurmeet.

I just hope, wish and pray Drashti and Gurmeet along with creative team of Geet realize what works with Geet and traditional daily soap ideas won’t appeal to fans.

As my last attempt to pass on an feedback in the most decent manner I could with a message and an idea what works with Geet and what we viewers love to see always

The later just went fading as Geet's character lost connectivity and somehow the work of  writers and directors pushed the series to an unimaginable bad state but can still be revived if 'will" to listen to fan's feedback is shown.


The only hope left is Nissar, Gul Khan, Barry Dhillon, Drashti Dhami and Gurmeet intervene and ask for some insight on major loopholes left by the previous story and screenplay writers which has had an negative impact on the series, the Amritsar track and more importantly romantic image of “Maaneet” which is the only USP left in the show after the theme of the show was compromised for a right reason to stretch the show but presented in a wrong manner without constructive justification.


Credibility of this feedback depends on how Star One and creative team of Geet takes this feedback which is given after one year of observation and after having read, felt and experienced all types of viewer feedback which is indeed surprising considering Geet and Maaneet are fictional.


Geet has seen love and acceptance beyond imagination and it is on the verge of experiencing hit back from fans in a negative manner like never seen before. The claim can be later analyzed when impact of disappointed fans of Geet is felt on the acceptance of the new series.







No doubt I will be supporting her in her future ventures, particularly with Gurmeet as her co star, they rock together onscreen, no one can match their chemistry.

There is very little that I know about off screen life of Drashti Dhami, apart from that she is fond of KSG as a friend, likes pani puri and she wants a handsome guy, who is family oriented and the best part who will give her his credit card to shop whatever and whenever she wants, lets her stay with her parents for 5 days and 2 days with him on weekends off course.

I wish and pray you soon get your Dream Man; everyone is waiting for the "Breaking News".
Anyways,I can go on and on in praise for Drashti, but would mention that "Geet" is immortal and Drashti and Gurmeet will always be remembered for their roles as Geet and Maan respectively and Maaneet together have given me enough reasons to love them, follow them and trust them when it comes to entertainment and call myself a Drashti Dhami fan and Maaneet Maniac....

I would love to know more of off screen life of Drashti and Gurmeet, as a fan it is always a memorable experience listening to the real life experiences of your beloved reel life stars. I hope the makers listen to it, some show similar to "Jeena isika naam hai" presented by Star One and team Geet for Maaneet and others too if they want.



Would love to see them in college life based shows and particularly in Comedy Circus in near future, films will eventually be the final destination.

Keep flying high in personal and professional life Drashti Dhami.

Unknowingly celebrities do a lot for their fans and this article is only my way of conveying thanks and gratitude.

Keep rocking Drashti along with Gurmeet and surely you are our sweetheart family members, whom we will be supporting and even, criticize but only constructive criticism.

Till date never followed any daily soap for the emotional crap they show in it which has no logic and I wondered how women get so involved with something fictional, but I still respected their feelings and opted to stay away from such shows if I did not relate to them as entertainment.

But with "Geet" everything changed and with actors Drashti and Gurmeet as "Maaneet" I actually think if I had that kind of an attitude towards daily soap.


Well, I still have the same attitude for others becoz for me "Geet" is not a daily soap it is a "Love Saga" which comes daily.

One compliment I got from fellow friends and fans,

"Gaurav you are probably the only male fan who writes so much for the series, in fact too much and the good thing is you are a die hard Drashti Dhami fan amongst so many MSK and Geet fans and when everyone use to ask about Gurmeet you always kept Drashti right up there through your writings."

Felt awesome and so good, can’t write it down in words.

Well Off course, I want "Geet" the only series which is different to be different and fly high and sustain for as long as possible.

I have seen many writing we love Maan and Geet which for me is illogical, because it is Drashti and Gurmeet in particular who make these characters look so desirable.





These two God's gift have given millions, who smash their head, pull their hair,crib,shout and at the end of the day, just because they love Drashti and Gurmeet together, wait like crazies as if the whole world and their life depends on what will be shown at 9.30 pm,star one in the show Geet where two leads named Drashti and Gurmeet are playing the role of Maan and Geet and have reached heights, respect, love and passion in their fan’s hearts to an extent which wud be envied by any other person in the same profession, forget profession boss..

Maan and Geet are nothing less than those love birds,romeo and juliet,heer aur ranjha and many more which I have been hearing since days when I gained senses and did not even know what love is.

 I cant see her more perfect and complete with any other actor except Gurmeet and I am so stubborn in my vision for her that I don't want to see any other actor with her..

That is stupid from me, but such is the vision that the moment you take the either of the two out, the feel becomes alien and irrespective of how good the other person is as an actor you feel,hmmm no, Gurmeet hi hona chahiye...

Coming down to where she stands and along with whom:

Superstar would definitely be a person who had an extraordinary impact on your life, the way you think and the way you behave, giving you some reason to believe in, something to look up to and also motivation to do something creative and constructive.


1) My childhood superstar and now nothing less than God, Sachin Tendulkar has always been a motivation and an individual who, with his special talent made millions smile, I remember when he use to score runs, people use to say "Aaj din bangaya" irrespective of how bad the day was for them in reality, but his success brought smiles and joy giving fans a reason to celebrate. Even I did.


2) Madhuri Dixit, my first crush as a kid or teenager, first signs of following your fav
superstar from the entertainment sector and in those days it was more of collecting post card posters and hiding them from parents because they would shout for this act or even if they would not, I was very shy to express "I loved Madhuri Dixit".


3) Kajol, she was my only female superstar till Drashti Dhami arrived as Geet on small screen, my love for Kajol was more because of her acting skills and her strong personality and particularly the way she has managed her personal and professional life and is a successful actress who is also a great house wife.

4)Aamir Khan, the name in himself defines what cinema and entertainment is all about and no need to describe the impact he and his films have had, a perfect blend of art and commercial success with a message in most of his films.

5) Hrithik Roshan, when Kaho naa pyaar hai arrived,,Hrithik Mania was all over India and I still remember watching Kahoo naa in Rahul theatre ( Pune), an actor with perfect looks and exceptional talent had arrived and suddenly guys were found more in Gyms and also polishing their dancing skills, dancing to tunes of Ek pal ka Jeena got me alot of recognition in school and junior college but more than that it was Hrithik's sheer determination and acts in Lakshya which made him a Superstar for me.

6) I was always into sports, football is my passion and I was introduced to it by David Beckham.

about, year 2003 till date and I am a die hard Manchester United fan and for me the craze is on par with that for Indian Cricket team.






7) Drashmeet, I feel what has clicked is "Drashmeet" both when separate are good, but when together are exceptional, too good,  great, so good that the best known couples till date on television and in bollywood  would admire them and say "What a Maaneetastic Maaneetacular and Maaneejestic pair."

I have mentioned all those names because Drashti Dhami finds herself standing tall amongst the greats in this list, my choice of superstars will give you an idea about the credibility and potential of this young and very vibrant actress Drashti Dhami.


She is already the most followed female TV star and this would have been impossible without that 'X' factor in her. Drashti is very vibrant and very appealing as an actress and her eyes are good enough to convey every possible emotion.


“Drashmeet” are the only reason to watch Geet (which is one Golden era in the darkness spread by daily soaps) and a major reason to sit and write and motivate the makers to do justice with Geet. It would be unfair if I don't mention Guru's name because without him as Maan, Drashti is incomplete as Geet and together they have managed to do which will always be remembered in years to come.

My liking for her would be more of a true friend and a well wisher who wants his friend to be at the top and is a constant motivator.Anyways with audiences getting smarter, the relationship between a fan and an Icon is no more that of a dream boy or a girl and has moved on from that point to being an unknown true friend, a well wisher who knows his icon but his icon is unaware of him.

Only to realize later she was the one I was waiting to idolize as an actress after Kajol and now I keep saying

""Dude you don't know Drashti Dhami !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

As said Drashti Dhami is the actress after Kajol to look forward to

I adore Drashti for her acting skills and to be frank I am a bit partial too,thoda soft corner toh banta hai boss,anyways that counts for only a small percentage, genuinely after Kajol I have not seen any actress with that fire power in her eyes and capability of doing something big with right platform offered.

Smriti Irani was one who is a strong personality,Priyanka is Good,Genelia Dsouza cute (tom boy) types, but never had such strong feeling of being a fan, follow your star and support your star no matter what the circumstances are, that is what I feel for Drashti Dhami.



I had never seen Drashti before and when my sister saw promos of Geet she was excited as her Muskaan was back and I asked her who is she?

Apologies, I did not even watch "Dil Mil Gaye" or "Mile Jab Hum Tum".

Well, the realizations later on brought out surprise and expression,"Ohh teri,yeh iss mein bhi thi"

1) Ohh she is the one cute face whose cheeks are pulled  in that add "googly woogly woosh".

2) The Chevrolet add where Drashti winks and so does the car and few other south Indian adds which I had seen before and Reliance add  too.

3) The music video Sayiyaan dil mein, where I always wondered why that video concentrated more on Tanushree and not on the other two cute faces which clicked and to my surprise Drashti was one of them.

4 ) Most surprising was when I saw "Nachle soniye tu" from Shael and I loved Drashti in it, specially her attitude when she makes Shael follow her was great, but again, did not know who she was..

5 ) "Bhappi da's Madhuri dixit song,Humko in red...



Comes Miss Dhami as "Geet" running through the fields of Punjab and her journey  from Dev to the Super sensational Maan Singh Khurana, where she unknowingly steals millions of hearts all over as "Geet" and her literally idolized and worshipped pairing with Gurmeet as "Maan" spreading the pandemic effect called "Maaneet Effect".

I still remember it was in March 2010, I had seen the add featuring Drashti running through the fields. as referred by some one to watch her once, but I happened to follow the series only from 73rd episode, the one shot at the Dhaba.

Before that I had experienced some very common and funny incidents related to Geet, generally what we hear in every household, ladies discussing injustice with Geet.

It was a weekend and while I was still in the bed, I heard my aunt discussing the injustice with Geet and at that particular point I thought it was about some relative of mine who was cheated and I don't know her and then another thought, what rubbish we dot have any relative in Punjab, only to realize it was about the daily soap Geet and you can imagine my reactions, similar to what you get from your brothers,hubbies whoever who does not watch daily soaps and is fed up with them.

Drashti's persona is such that it never let me divert my attention from the series and till date she is the major reason to stick to the series and I would also mention that her chemistry with Guru is the other reason to follow Geet so religiously.

The craze for "Maaneet" and the series started with a plead from my bhanja, which sounded more like a warning to face the consequences if I don't let him watch Geet and that is how I happened to watch it and it was Drashti dancing to tunes of bhangra and Guru joining her and Maahi in the background which did the trick, and for the first time I felt an onscreen pair should not get separate ever and such was the effect of the chemistry that my eyes got stuck with some good feeling while watching Gurmeet and Drashti enact together.





I had this initial connection with Drashti because she also reminded me of my fav actress "Kulraaj Randhawa" from "Kareena Kareena" on Zee which aired between 2004 and 2005 but I had forgotten the series, because I was not a keen or regular follower, just watched it occasionally, but I liked her and was upset because that series went off air suddenly and I missed the actress.

Anyways, Drashti as an actress, is certainly someone special, she makes you fall in love when she smiles, when she cries, when she talks and when she connects through eyes with Maan as Geet and her pairing with Gurmeet is just beyond description, how addictive one can get when they come together onscreen is beyond my capability to define it, because of lack of proper vercab.

But like all those superstars, she had an impact on my life too. Drashti without any doubt has that talent which is very similar to what Madhuri and Kajol had and provided that she gets some decent and decisive characters to play as, she will be no where lagging behind the standards set by the former two and she has already proven that with Geet.

Opportunity is very crucial and Drashti Dhami needs more of these to give Bolly dollies a
run for their place. I won’t say others don't have it in them, but Drashti has a bit more and that bit more becomes a lot more when she is with Guru.

Drashti Dhami the biggest motivator and idol.

She stands tall amongst the other superstars who have been a motivation for me  to do something positive and creative.

Certainly Drashti Dhami as a Super Star had the maximum impact ,where her talent and chemistry with Gurmeet enthused me to finally write a 250 episode long story on my concept “Mannmeet” which  is now referred to  as “Maaneet’s Eternal Love Story relived yet again.” on social networking sites.

She as Geet  along with Guru as Maan has given moments to cherish and archive for ever in our hearts and Guru's contribution is no where lagging behind, together they have made fan's bad day turn good and make them feel "Aaj din bangaya" when something very passionate is shown involving Guru and Drashti.

Irrespective of what happens with Geet as a series, because the recent episodes specially where a culprit and a criminal was glorified, disappointed me a lot and I feel Drashti's image as an actress was not complemented and so was her character Geet which was assassinated during and after the holi sequence, and did not go down well with majority of her audiences and the result of it, many disconnecting from the show as well as her onscreen character  “Geet” which is unfortunate indeed.

From admirer’s point of view its pain watching your beloved star’s talent not complimented by behind the scenes creative’s vision.

But then what makes Drashti and Gurmeet so special is their charisma to hold on fans and make them sit and watch Geet and this quality in them deserves an honor as prestigious as “Knighthood”.



 Nature’s most beautiful creation till date, a gift to humans which is fictional and not real.

Fans have some unrealistic, unfair but very true and strong desires for Drashti and Gurmeet.

One common feeling and expression of Maaneet fans:

 “God’s Computer was indeed struck by a virus for few seconds and the result is in front of you”.

Its “harsh” but when almost everyone thinks on the same line then it’s difficult to ignore.

“What fans want to see with Drashti and Gurmeet in Geet is something which cannot be possible in real life between them.”

Reel life vision for Drashti Dhami and Gurmeet portraying and complementing the real life unrealistic and unfair prayer wish and desire of “Maaneet Fans”.

With a wish to see them as real life pair eventually turning out to be the most cherished dream which is out of question, the only place where viewers can see them together as happily married couple is “Geet” as Maaneet.
